SU Istanbul Center

Founded in 2010, Syracuse University Istanbul is one of the first U.S. universities to establish a permanent on-site study abroad center in Istanbul, Turkey.  Developed in partnership with Bahçeşehir University (BAU), the SUI center is located in the heart of Istanbul overlooking the Bosphorous strait.

This ideal location provides students with easy access to the city’s breathtaking Byzantine and Ottoman historical sites, as well as its most dynamic urban neighborhoods – in Beyoğlu: Cihangir, Tünel, Galata, Karaköy, Taksim; around the University: Beşiktaş, Nişantaşı, Akatlar; along the Bosphorus: Ortaköy, Arnavutköy, Bebek; and on the Asian side: only a short ferry ride to Kadıköy and Üsküdar. Each of these distinct neighborhoods offer their own unique cafés, restaurants and shopping districts, as well as delightful and often hidden artistic, cultural, and culinary finds.

The SUI program offers a unique combination of innovative SU seminars and a wide range of courses offered in English through our partnership with Bahçeşehir University (BAU).

Syracuse University’s Istanbul program is open to any student enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program at an American institution. If you are interested in learning more or applying, please visit the SU Abroad website .
